In 691 BC, the domain of Tepest manifested into existence. Once the East Timori trade route fell apart, this trading relationship stalled.

The Borca-based Boritsi Trading Company carted Nova Vaasan goods into Tepest and then exported from it timber, goats, cheese, and wine made from their native cloudberries. Tepest was only known to trade with Nova Vaasa. Every species of tree within the domain grew to have strange, warped appearances, with gnarled trunks and twisted limbs. These were punctuated by the occasional spruce and pine tree. The forests of Tepest consisted predominantly of hardwood species of tree, such as oaks, beech, and hazelnut. People frequently fished there year round as the waters never completely froze over. Following that event, the Blackmist River instead flowed from Lake Kronov. Prior to the Great Upheaval, Blackmist River flowed into it from a spring in Brujamonte. In the western half of Tepest was a dark bed of water called Lake Kronov, which flowed into Nova Vaasa. The Blackmist River cascaded down into the Shadow Rift. This road and the South Dnar River were the only conduits between the domain and Nova Vaasa. The forests that dominated the land were sectioned off by rivers and the East Timori Road.
